An Active Tradition of handloom Weaving, Shawls from Kullu and Kinnaur have been produced by hand for hundreds of years. These are rare masterpieces in the field of Himachal handloom industry A plain body with bold, colourful borders in geometric patterns is the mark of Kullu and Kinnauri shawls. Sheep wool, Pashmina, Yak wool, Angora, and handspun material are used to make Kullu shawls.

In 2004, Kullu Shawl was registered under Geographical Indications of Goods (Registration and Protection) Act, 1999 as Geographical indication No. 19.

The value of Kullu Shawl increases with the quality and width of the handspun borders .

The colourful cap is handmade and is made out of pure wool. Each area has its style of design on caps. The Cap is round in shape and is flat on the top. The front part of the cap is decorated with a beautifully traditional geometric design

Hanwoven Hemp Footwear , popularly known as Pulle in Himachal , It is made from the Bhang/Cannabis grass., which is found in upper regions of the Kullu valley, they have a very special feature that these are worn inside temples and monasteries by the priest and people often wear these inside house and kitchen.

Hemp Pulle footwear are handmade by women artisans in Himachal following a long lineage of tradition.

The grass is cut and dried before the actual process begins. It is then stretched and made into long ropes by intertwining which makes it strong and increases the tensile strength. Just like any other fabric/thread it is then spun on the spindle, also known as takli.

The upper surface of the Pulle is embroidered in bright contrasting colours of Geometric patterns, resembling the border decoration of the Kullu Shawl and Caps.

The natural antibacterial properties of hemp ensure that there is minimal germ buildup which helps keep bad odour at bay.
